Bull and Clyde came to Blue Sky to be working dogs. The land is very mountainous, rocky, and rugged. Every year, Blue Sky allows rancher's cows to live on the mountain for fire mitigation and green belt status.

Moving cows with our horses was so challenging. Cows would scatter and hide in bushes that we couldn’t get to on horseback. So we decided to get a couple of cattle dogs. Somehow they must have known we were also a rescue because both of these dogs ended up having conditions that ended their careers in cow herding.

Bull started to go blind, and eventually, his eyes became so painful we had to remove them. Clyde must have gotten kicked by a cow early in his life because he has terrible, painful arthritis. Both of these guys are the sweetest. Although they can’t help us with the cows, we love them so much, and I feel it was meant to be.
