Why Do Horses Need Rescuing?

Unfortunately, the horse industry overwhelmingly puts the needs of humans before the well being of the animals. Some of our rescues have been as simple as a well-meaning owner who might have fallen on hard times. Others, like in the case of the Lucky 8 who were saved from slaughter, are a direct result of humans working to profit from the mistreatment and abuse of these animals.

Horses are sensitive and intuitive beings that require great care and attention. It is a huge responsibility, and we know we may not be able to save every animal from a world that treats them unfairly, but we will continue to try, One Horse at a Time.
