Many rescue organizations focus on large-scale rescues, taking in tons of animals at once and “re-homing” them as quickly as possible. It’s certainly impressive to see so many animals rescued in a single effort, and many organizations do good work this way. But not us.
At Saving Gracie, it’s not about the numbers.
We will never take in so many horses that we cannot provide each animal the gold-standard, individualized care they deserve. Although we consider ourselves mostly a sanctuary, we have re-homed a small number of horses. We will only re-home a horse if the circumstances of the adoption are up to our standards and we are certain the horse will have the same standard of care and a forever home with their new owner.
In this way, our impact is simple: a forever home. One horse at a time.
