Champ
Champ was an owner surrender. His owner reached out in despair. He had Champ since he was just months old. Now at 10, he could no longer afford to care for him.
Champ was suffering from Navicular Disease. There is no cure, but there are things that can be done to make horses more comfortable and slow down the progression of the disease. Unfortunately, Champ’s owner couldn’t afford to help him, and I knew I had the resources to help him.
As soon as Champ arrived at Gracie’s Farm, he received corrective shoes and pain medication. Champ is doing quite a bit better, but we still have a way to go with his recovery.
