brown horse near fence and stable

Rango

Rango came to Gracie’s in 2022 when I was contacted by his owners. He was living with two cows, and it was a mystery to me how he ended up there.

The family who contacted me explained that Rango was owned by a relative who apparently couldn’t keep him anymore. Their plan was to send him to an auction, and they claimed they weren’t aware that horse auctions were really sending your horse to slaughter. Horse auctions may seem like a good option to people who are unaware of what the real purpose is. These auction houses are just holding facilities for horses on their way to Mexico to be slaughtered.

Rango has a long list of health and emotional issues that we are trying to help him overcome. Unfortunately, he’d been suffering from his issues for so long without any medical care. It’s been difficult to give Rango the relief he deserves, but we have made some progress and will continue to find ways to make his life pain-free and peaceful.
