THE ANIMALS AT GRACIE’S FARM

Saving Gracie is reaching out to you - we need your help supporting these animals. Your tax-deductible donation directly impacts the lives of more than 50 rescue animals that call Gracie's Farm their home. By donating, you are helping to provide them with healthy hay and grain, clean and fresh water, 'Gold Standard' medical care, upkeep and maintenance of pastures and facilities on Gracie's Farm, and you are also making it possible for Saving Gracie to expand so that more rescues are feasible and sustainable.

If you would like the opportunity to sponsor any of the animals below or any other animals shown elsewhere on this website, please email Barb Phillips at barbara@savinggraciefoundation.org or go to our Sponsorship page

The Horses at Gracie’s Farm

The horses are the heart of Gracie’s Farm. The Saving Gracie Foundation revolves around the love and care of our horses. Each horse has their own story and their own recovery. We adopt and rescue”one horse at a time”. We don’t have any agenda except approaching each situation on it’s own. If we feel we can help, we step in. Working with our Partner, Blue Sky Utah, gives Saving Gracie a unique opportunity to provide excellent care and sanctuary to horses that need help. Whether they are unwanted, abused, neglected or in need of medical attention, we have the resources to provide the care necessary. We know the love people have for horses but aren’t able to take them in. The Saving Gracie Foundation gives these horses a second chance and as a supporter, you can have a chance to be involved in the process. To hear their stories and make a difference in their lives.

THE LUCKY EIGHT

The story of the Lucky Eight

On December 9th of 2023, 50 weanlings arrived at the Bowie Kill Pen in Texas. These 50 babies were from an Indian reservation somewhere in Arizona. We don’t understand why they are rounding up babies for slaughter. Our guess is over population caused by a lack of birth control. When the babies arrived they were tagged for “direct ship” to slaughter in Mexico. They weren’t given a chance at the auction. The Saving Gracie Foundation worked together with two other rescue organizations to get these babies saved from death. All Seated in a Barn and Moon Mountain Sanctuary helped us to rescue 8 of those babies. They called them the Lucky 8.

Farm Animals at Gracie’s Farm

Saving Gracie is a sanctuary to over 30 cows. Each has their own story. Some start off sad but all their stories end happy.

As of January 2018 there is an estimated 94.4 millions cows in the United States. There are 31.7 million beef cows and if you do the math, 89,041 cows are killed DAILY to feed Americans.

It’s overwhelming when you think about those numbers. At Saving Gracie our philosophy is “one live at a time” so we feel happy for each live we save. Every cow at Gracie’s Farm is a life that gets to live on and will never face slaughter.

We have a tradition of naming our cows after Country Western Singers. As you scroll down and read their stories we hope you’ll learn that cows are more than food. They are kind, feeling, smart and beautiful creatures that deserve our respect and love.

We want to make note that the tags you see on the cows are there to be sure they would be returned to us if they ever got out, which cows often do. They are not done in a cruel way and are there for their safety.
